Rather, it provides a vast library of different possibilities ("conflict situations") which can be personalized with your character names. This is a great tool for exploring new ideas - for an individual scene - and for an overall theme. It also helps in the discovery of character motivations and nuances. This program is fun to use and is a reliable cure for writer's block.

I was struggling with a transitional scene in my novel and getting frustrated by my inability to come up with something fresh...my brother had given me Storybase for Christmas, so I decided to give it a try... I entered my story and character info and Storybase spit out a bunch of really cool ideas...some I would have never thought of even with a hundred hours of thinking...I found one that was just right for this moment in my story and was able to finally finish the chapter and in doing so gave me a terrific way to start the next scene...I'm now a big fan of Storybase and recommend it to all my writer friends.
